BROWN COUNTY SEES INCREASE IN SALES PRICES, CLOSED SALES AND NEW LISTINGS
MIBOR releases central Indiana housing data for January 2014
INDIANAPOLIS — A one- and three-month review of local housing data reveals an increase in sales prices, closed sales
and new listing activity in Brown County over the same periods in 2014, according to a report from the Metropolitan
Indianapolis Board of REALTORS® (MIBOR).
In a January 2015 comparison to the same period last year, both average and median sales prices increased in Brown
County. In a review of November 2014 through January 2015, the average sale price increased by 22.6 percent to
$166,544 and by 5.5 percent to $167,369 in the January-only review. The median sales price increased by 21.4 percent
to $148,500 in the three-month review and also increased in January-only by 28.2 percent to $151,250.
Closed sales also saw an increase in both time periods – increasing 88.9 percent in January and by 10.8 percent in
November through January. New listings increased 41.7 percent in January and by 34.1 percent in the three months
ending in January.
Additional key central Indiana findings for January 2015:

New listings increased by 23.9 percent

Pending sales increased by 17.0 percent

Average sales price increased by 2.0 percent

Closed sales increased by 12.8 percent
The attached data report will tell consumers how the county is performing according to eight different indicators. Each
indicator will have one- and three-month comparisons. Consumers also have access to central Indiana housing data
