Asian History 1A
The Republic of Korea believes peace within the Korean peninsula has been
violated by an invasion. Two million Koreans have been killed, many by fellow
Koreans. This had led to unfavorable consequences. A war between the two
Koreas has emerged. Atomic weapons will not solve anything. Atomic
weapons will just make matters worse. The use of atomic weapons will not
help to unify Korea.
The Republic of Korea wants to avoid using atomic bombs so peace can be
kept. The Republic of South Korea and North Korea belong to the same
peninsula. Therefore sharing this peninsula equally seems to be a logical
solution. Each half being able to maintain their own government. Each being
able to make their own decisions. Therefore conflict between the two halves
will be minimized.
The Republic of Korea recommends to end the violence between the two
governments by sharing the peninsula. Both sides have different ideas that
contradict the other. The Republic of Korea also suggests that the United
States of America continue providing military aid to restore international
peace and security in the area. Both sides have suffered great losses. For such
reasons, the Republic of Korea proposes the implementation of an armistice
to maintain a peaceful division between the two governments without the use
of atomic bombs. This is the only solution to prevent further losses from both

divisions. Should the delegates gathered here today not support the Republic
of Korea, it becomes self-evident that our allied nations have no intention of
unifying Korea or defending democracy. The Republic of Korea will have no
choice but to send its own armed forces to take a unilateral approach to
restore the peace within this peninsula.
