Briarwood West Homeowners Association Meeting Minutes July 25, 2016 Called to order: 4:00 pm Homeowners in attendance: Tonya Bailey, Erica Honzalez Representatives from Prestige Homes Property Management: Myra Young Minutes: Were not read due to no attendance at previous meeting Treasurer’s Report: was given by Myra Young. Myra made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, Tonya seconded, Erica third, APPROVED Old Business: Myra brought up the need for a security system to monitor the pool area since there have been so many damages. Both Tonya and Erica agreed something needed to be done because on multiple occasions they have seen teenagers that do not live in the association trying to get into the pool area or running out of the pool area when loud crashing noises have been heard. Myra said that the only way things will get better is if the homeowners and tenants stay vigilent and call the police when they see things happening. Charges do not have to be pressed, but if they are caught it will scare them enough not to come back. Tonya asked why a wooden fence was put up instead of replacing the metal one and Myra replied that she wasn’t completely sure, but thought cost was a factor. Tonya said she thought the incidences were happening more frequently because it is a privacy fence and no one can really see in. Myra showed both Tonya and Erica a do it yourself security camera system that cost $249.99 to order that included 1 indoor/outdoor camera that included night vision and records up to 400 hours of video. When the SD card is full, it records over the previous video and it would only need to be checked when an incident happened. Myra explained that when she called the police to make of a report of the latest damage, the officer suggested getting a camera put high up in the tree, but she said all the cameras she found needed to be plugged into a power source so it would have to go on the roof so it could not be easily tampered with. New Business: Tonya suggested getting flowers in the common area flower beds to brighten the association up and make it more inviting. Myra said she did have estimates to do so, but it was an extra cost to the association. She also said she would forward all the estimates to the president for his approval. Tonya also asked what could be done to make the association better and asked Myra what her suggestions were. Myra said she thought something like a block party would be a good idea that way all the neighbors could meet each other and know each other so there wouldn’t be a question if someone lived in the association or not. Both Tonya and Erica thought this was a good idea. Next Meeting is scheduled for October 24, 2016 at 4 p.m. Manager’s Report: Lawn care is done weekly Wednesday weather permitting through the end of September 2016. Adjourn: 4:17 By: Myra Young Respectfully Submitted, Myra Young Association Manager
