He played Hard rock, blues-rock, psychedelic rock.
He is often considered to be the greatest electric
guitarist in the history of rock music and one of the
most important and influential musicians of his era
across a range of genres (like heavy metal, hard rock, heavy blues, etc…)
He became successful in England, and then became famous throughout the world. He
was also known for his emotional improvisation in the famous Woodstock Festival.
Hendrix taught himself how to play the electric guitar and usually played a Fender
Stratocaster. Because he was left-handed, he played the guitar upside down with the
strings attached in reverse order. It was a new style to play the electric guitar.
He was named Greatest Guitarist of all Times by Rolling Stone magazine in 2003.
Dead at only 27, it was a terrible shock for the whole world of music.

He is for me, one of the most influential persons in my life. Not only is he the best
guitarist of all times, but a legend of rock too. I play the guitar, and his style of playing
the guitar influences my own style. Because he is the first in history to play with lots of
effects in his guitar, like wah wah, phaser, flanger, etc… I admire him like a god of
music. He died at the age of 27. And he
composed so many songs which are very
famous, like Purple haze, Voodoo chile …
I can play those 2 tunes a little bit
because there are so cool to play. What
strikes me most about his guitar is the
reversed right handed guitar. Thanks to
him, I understand that we don’t play
music we feel it! I do guitar solos like
him, playing fast but with emotion.
