Job Description
Ergo Agency is seeking a talented, creative and experienced Web/Graphic Designer who produces clean,
deceptively simple design with an emphasis on innovation and creativity to meet marketing objectives.
The designer will interact with clients and/or Ergo's marketing team and must be able to transform
complex ideas into meaningful and compelling visuals. The designer will receive briefs and brainstorm to
creative concepts, develop original design concepts for all web mediums and print, and participate in
visual design presentations.
Reporting to the Creative Head, the Graphic Designer will work with the creative team of designers as
well as web developers, engineers, product managers, and client service representatives to create
custom online solutions for both internal and external clients.
The candidate must be open to the Ergo credos of making design solutions that work for our customers
marketing goals. They must be a quick learner and open to learning best practices for Web, email, SEO,
SEM, Banner and Social Media design. They must also be ready to stay current on emerging
technology/trends in web based communications as well as established system capabilities and
proactively suggest changes to current delivery and tools.
Daily Duties will include

Concepting and Designing stunning sites and other graphics for web media including
o Web Sites
o Blogs
o Social Media Pages and Social Media Posts
o Marketing emails
o Banner Ads
o SEO Landing Pages
o SEM Landing Pages
o Logo, Brand, Identity
o Icons and Illustrations

Collaborate interdepartmentally with Marketing, Web Development and
Programmers in creating online product brochures, advertisements, templates,
product or company branding, object images, and various projects.
Interpret client/marketing requirements to come up with wire frames and concepts
Take a design from conception to production
Slice graphics for development implementation in appropriate web formats and
sizes
Create and revise user interface wireframes and design mockups and user interface
to solve the business needs of our clients
Maintain design skills and knowledge by keeping track of web design innovations,
trends, evolving technology and best practices for continuous professional
development.






Work flexibly on multiple projects at the same time to meet project deadlines and
expectations.
Desired Candidate Profile
Please note: This is not a position for a HTML person with some design capabilities, rather the opposite.
This is also not a pure art position. The candidate must have a background primarily in design and must
have been immersed in design throughout their education. The candidate should understand the
sensibilities required to do web designs.
Candidates Must Have:

















Strong visual literacy and understanding of typography, illustration, color theory,
wire framing and photo manipulation
Demonstration of strong design skills including screen information architecture
design
The ability to translate marketing, and business objectives into effective visual
communications
Understand best practices for web sites, banners, emails, Ads, Blog
Strong knowledge of graphic and web design principles including web graphic
production work
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles with the ability to address
complex design problems
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, ImageReady, Flash
and PowerPoint
Able to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams
Solid understanding of web standards and technologies HTML, CSS (Not required to
code - but understanding is crucial)
Understand cross browser/device compatibility issues
The ability to manage deadlines and produce products given a quick turnaround\
Ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure of tight deadlines
At least 3-5 years’ experience as key member of a Web design team
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a design oriented program is required
Candidate should be self-motivated, energetic and be able to adapt quickly to
change
Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong project management skills; organized, extremely high attention to detail, able
to manage multiple time-sensitive projects
