period, unprecedented in its proud history.
The Global Financial Crisis, spending overruns, removal of Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister, hung
Federal Parliament, removal of Julia Gillard as Prime Minister to be replaced by Kevin Rudd,
A$20bn blow outs on the annual Federal Budget despite record revenues and national debt
nearing A$400bn after Australia had proudly become a debt free nation in 2006.
All this negativity came at the same time when the Australian economy has been a world leader,
population has grown at the highest pace in the western world, the mining boom was in full swing
and now interest rates are at all time lows.
As a result, we haven’t seen the true economic benefit of Australia’s natural resources and
fundamentally strong and diverse economy.
The recent Federal Election brought a change in Government with the Tony Abbott led Liberals
gaining a clear majority to obtain power.
This has the potential to be the spark that ignites the economy as it brings an end to the confusion that has stalled economic activity in the
recent past, and may allow Australia to move confidently into the future.
