Director, Wildlife Health Program Wildlife Conservation Society The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a nonprofit organization headquartered at the Bronx Zoo in New York City that saves wildlife and wild places worldwide through science, conservation action, education and inspiring people to value nature. WCS addresses global conservation challenges in over 50 countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the world’s oceans as well as manages the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, and the New York Aquarium. WCS is recruiting for the position of Director, Wildlife Health Program, in the Global Conservation Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a global portfolio of wildlife health programs, from a Great Apes Health Program in Central Africa to a Big Cats Health Initiative across Asia, Africa and Latin America, linking our zoo-based zoological health expertise with our field based conservation programs. The position will ideally be based at WCS’s headquarters in New York City, but significant national and international travel is a requirement of the position. This full-time position provides competitive salary and benefits, with salary commensurate with experience. The successful candidate should have strong interpersonal and management skills; effective verbal and spoken English communication abilities; experience with international travel and conservation projects; a proven fund raising track record; and be a graduate of a veterinary school or have an advanced degree in an animal health related field.
