Settlements Department
Overview of Department
The Settlements Department is made up of five teams: Corporate Actions, Trade Processing, Cash and FX
Settlements, Derivatives and Settlements Central Support. The Corporate Actions team are responsible for
managing the complete lifecycle of corporate action events across all markets. The team liaise regularly with Fund
Managers and the Legal team to ascertain eligibility and decisions on all voluntary events prior to instructing the
custodian banks. The Trade Processing team ensures the timely settlement of all equity and bond transactions from
the point of execution to settlement in the local market. The Cash & FX Settlements team monitor all cash positions
to ensure compliance with internal and client specific rules at all times. The Derivatives Operations team ensures all
ETD and OTC derivative related transactions are monitored and instructed in a timely manner, including margining
and regulatory trade reporting. The Settlements Central Support team prioritise, coordinate and deliver our
departmental projects, deliver and coordinate Settlements related training and coordinate the Custodian Service
review quarterly papers and meetings.
Purpose of Role
To protect clients’ entitlements on all corporate action activity on their portfolios. To ensure the accounting system
accurately reflects all capital events on the relevant key dates.
Responsibilities
 Analyse information from various sources including Custodian Banks, 3 rd party vendors, Company
announcements and Fund Managers to ensure all capital events are recorded, and clients’ entitlements are
protected at all times
 Liaise with Fund Managers and Legal team on CA events requiring investment decisions
 Liaise with accounting departments and Market Data to ensure accurate processing
 Process all capital events through the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner
 Ensure all voluntary events are responded to within the Custodians published deadlines
 Undertake project work as required
