(Wealth Management and Equity Research)
 Learnt about the different types of clients in investment management and how a portfolio is split
between equity sectors and fixed income to ensure sustainable profits for investors.
 Experienced equity research at first hand working together with a team of equity researches to
extract financial information (such as EPS and P/E predictions) from various companies in
different sectors and compile into a report to be used by investors and traders.
 Gained deep insight into individual companies within these sectors to get a better view of the
markets which make up the financial world like the FTSE 100, AIM, and the S&P 500.
 Observed how an investment manager should manage client relations to obtain confidence from
the client and opportunities for further future investments.
28th June – 2nd July 2014: Intern at Wizard Capital Management
(Group of Proprietary Traders, essentially a small hedge fund)
 Learnt key techniques used by technical traders such as how to distinguish important buy-in and
sell points using candlestick charts.
 Guided through my own demo trades EG short-selling BP shares on the FTSE 100
 Introduction to the workings of national stock markets, equities, bonds, commodities, FOREX
and more complex derivatives.
 Understood the importance of risk and reward in making sustainable return ratios.
 Learnt the optimum mindset needed to succeed as a trader and make sustainable profits.
