Knowledge
Students are expected to acquire a good knowledge of the basic concepts, models and theories as tools of explanation/prediction of the
physical and chemical properties and behaviours of bodies and systems having an increasing degree of complexity: atoms and monoatomic
ions, molecules and poyatomic ions, pure substances, non-reactive homogeneous and etherogeneous systems, reactive systems. Furthermore,
at the end of the course students should be able to calculate the variations of some extensive variables (volumes, masses, moles equivalents)
and intensive variables(pressure, concentrations) accompanying physical or chemical tranformations of simple systems.
Assessment criteria of knowledge
In the written exam (2,5 hours, 5 questions)the student should demonstrate his/her ability to solve quantitative problems. In the oral exam the
student will be assessed on his/her ability to expose the course contents using the appropriate terminology.
Methods:
Final oral exam
Final written exam
Laboratory report
Further information:
In order to be admitted to the oral examination students must get at least 60% marks in the written examination. The final evaluation is given at
the end of the oral exam and takes into account the results of both written and oral examinations.
Teaching methods
Delivery: face to face
Learning activities:
