Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF) is the statewide family network dedicated
to help families with children that have mental health needs navigate the
system. MCF partners with Wraparound MD with families who have care
coordination through family support partners.
Baltimore Mental Health Systems, Inc (BMHS) provides the local leadership l as
ensuring youth involvement and neighborhood involvement to ensure services
are cultural and linguistic competency components.

Youth and
Families
Youth and families are at the core of these efforts. They play key decision
making roles in the care they receive but also help MD CARES improve how the
system works and reach out to the community.

Social Work
Wraparound MD provides direct care coordination for the families receiving
services from MD CARES, as they do for all other public mental health care
coordination for children in Baltimore City.
University of MD, School of Social Work provides both the evaluation team
responsible for quality improvement. Housed at the school is the Institute for
Innovation and Implementation - the statewide project manager and training to
agencies and providers.
Baltimore City agencies are key partners in improving coordination and
effectiveness of their services through MD CARES. In addition to BMHS, the
organizations are: The Family League; Dept. of Social Services Department of
Juvenile Services; Health Department; Balt. Health Care Access for Child
Welfare; Balt. Substance Abuse Systems; Public School System
State Agencies– The Mental Hygiene Administration, the grantee, works in
partnership with the Governor’s Office for Children, the Department of Human
Resources, and other Children’s Cabinet Agencies to support MD CARES by
providing match funding , infrastructure support , and sustainability planning.
