Introduction
Procentec ProfiTrace 2 is the most powerful analyzer for
PROFIBUS networks. The very latest generation in bus
monitoring technology, combining all primary tools :-
Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Bar graph,
Topology Scan and DP-V0/V1 Master.
Technicians can check and troubleshoot a complete
PROFIBUS network with 1 software package and only 1
piece of hardware - an enormous reduction in test equipment
weight, cost and required knowledge over previous kit.
An advanced PROFIBUS to USB hardware adapter,
ProfiCore Ultra, is used to capture bus signals running at up to 12 Mbps and is equipped with
high speed digital oscilloscope circuits for display of waveform details on an attached computer.
A ProfiTrace 2 software set on your computer, connected to a PROFIBUS network through a
ProfiCore Ultra adapter, provides an essential tool for maintenance, commissioning and
troubleshooting as well as product development. The classical failures such as noise, reflections,
voltage drops, termination problems, double addresses, wire breaks and configuration faults are
easily identified. Random errors such as overshoots, error telegrams, repeats and diagnostic
messages can also be captured and logged. The results can also be exported to detailed
reports which are accepted by the industry. Predictive maintenance and asset management are
now really possible!

service, maintenance and engineering technicians.
ProfiTrace 2 software and an essential ProfiCore Ultra
adapter is normally supplied in one of two Troubleshooting
Toolkit sets. These include the useful Tap Connector lead,
USB leads, software CD and User Handbook, all in a robust
plastic carrying case, as in photo. All components may be
purchased individually, if required. See below for further
