It is strongly recommended trying to protect the boundary (or access) to the fuel tank location, rather than the fuel tank itself. This boundary can be protected with various types of Wireless Alarm Detectors, such as Solar Powered Wireless Perimeter Beams. These communicate back to a Solar Powered Siren (mounted on the apex of the house or office) which omits a very loud siren and very bright flashing strobe when activated, giving both an impressive audio and visual deterrent. You could also consider putting a fixed structure around your tank as shown to help security, but there are rules and regulations you need to follow.
