Importation of Live SVC – Susceptible Fish species and Fertilized

The consignment must comply with the following requirements as follows:
a)
the live SVC susceptible fish (or gametes) in this shipment originated from a country,
zone, or aquaculture establishment (farm) that has been tested for Spring Viremia or
Carp (SVC) twice a year (with at least 3 months before test) for a minimum of the
previous two years;
b)
Water temperature at testing should be between 13-20°C, if applicable;
c)
Sample from fish less than one year of age (if applicable) should be collected by an
official veterinarian of certifying official representating the competent authority, Malaysia
and processed in a laboratory approved by the competent authority, Malaysia;
d)
The sample size should be provided for a 95% confidence level to detect an assumed
2% prevalence of infection in the source population;
e)
SVC virus detection asseys shall be included cell culture or other (specify)________;
f)
Cell culture shall be incubated on Ephithelioma papulosum cyprini (EPC) of Feathered
minnow (FHM) cell lines at 15-25°C, with at least two serial passage and evaluation of
cythopathic effect for a minimum of 7 days after each passage; and
g)
All testing result must be negative.
