Personal Notes: Consider This: Robert Browning said, “Man was made to grow, not stop.” The apostles Peter and Paul believed the same thing. Peter challenged all Christians to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18, ESV) Dead things cannot grow. Before there can be spiritual growth, there must be spiritual life. When a child is born, his first cry indicates life. If there is a life, a world of possibilities beckons to this new baby. If there is no life, there is no hope. A fence post planted in the ground will not grow, but a little seed will grow spontaneously. Drop a stone into the richest soil and it will be exactly the same size years later. Place a seed into the ground, and it will spring up and produce a stalk and flowers. The difference is plain: one has life while the other does not. ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ ________________________________ Central Church A Free Will Baptist Church What Next? We came out on the other side with, hopefully, a fresh perspective. However, now we need to answer the logical question that follows, “What’s next?” What are we supposed to do after we come to grips with life in troubled times… What are we waiting for? The disciples were asked this same question… Why ______________________? We have been called to ________ We have been called to ________ We have been called to ________ Christians have faced this challenge, accomplishing the Great Commission, since the day Jesus ascended into heaven. It has never gone away. Only as we accept this challenge and start living out the commandment, will we see the local church actually become meaningful in our lives, in our families, and in our community. Apart from this, the church is nothing more than a social club. We don’t need another social club in town. The Elks, Lions, VFW, and other groups have that role well accomplished. We need to do what we’ve been told to do!
