A Biological-inspired Dynamic Inbreeding Depression Reduction Theory for
Adaptive Evolutionary Optimization Algorithm
In these previous works on Inbreeding Depression Reduction (IDR), we have found
that by minimizing the replication of similar, poor performing genes in clones’ gene
pool which minimize times spent evaluating poor choices, which in turn improves
optimization performance. However, these previous works only focus on static
optimization population instead of Differential Evolution (DE) which is dynamically
selected population. We hypothesize that evolutionary optimization could perform
sub-optimally in such static population.
In DE context, portions of population will be randomly selected for fitness function
evaluation, hence we proposed to apply IDR in such scenario for selecting the good
individuals for the population. Therefore, the term dynamic is referring to
randomly selected population portions for the inbreeding depression reduction
thus Dynamic Inbreeding Depression Reduction (DIDR) is named for our proposed
approach. This project will develop a novel evolutionary optimization framework
which can perform with minimum impact in different input data changes
scenarios.
