Lab Exercise: Quality Plans
A quality plan not only defines the measurable characteristics of the product/deliverable but
deploys control activities into the delivery process to ensure we develop these characteristics cost
effectively. Prevention is cheaper than waiting until the end of the project only to find it must be
“shipped to Canada”.
1. Review the following case and briefly answer the following questions:
o What key product characteristics and process parameters should be monitored/verified
and why?

 Define the final product characteristics
 Define the brewing process
2. Create a Quality Plan for your group work to develop Assignment 2
 Using methods and materials introduced thus far, create a quality plan for your group in
fulfillment of the second assignment
 Consider:
o Customer requirements (my requirements)
o Deliverable (the report)
o Process (how you will develop the report)
o How you will confirm key Deliverable Characteristics and Process Parameters
 To do this you will require some Project Planning Elements such as a WBS and Network
Diagram. What additional planning elements would be helpful?
