Dr. İşeri is Professor and Chairman at the Orthodontic Department of the University of Ankara.
He is a past President of the Turkish Orthodontic Society. Currently, he is on the Editorial
Boards of the European Journal of Orthodontics, AJO-DO and the Angle Orthodontist. He has
worked as a guest research fellow at the University of Copenhagen on the implant material of
Arne Björk. He is a member of the Edward Angle Society and the European Orthodontic
Society and involved in collaborated research with the Universities of Washington,
Copenhagen, Padova and Tel Aviv. His main research interests are in the areas of growth and
development of the craniofacial skeleton, treatment of maxillo-facial deformities by
conventional treatment modalities and distraction osteogenesis, maxillary expansion, treatment
of skeletal open bite, psychological aspects of orthodontics and treatment of obstructive sleep
apnoea. He has published 50 articles, chapters in books and given more than 100 lectures,
conferences and courses.
