Cast Bios for Four Seasons Theatre’s ASSASSINS
Katie Bates (Squeaky Fromme) could not be more excited to be making her Four Seasons Theatre debut!
Originally from Mequon, Wisconsin, Katie recently graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Her most recent roles include Ado Annie in Oklahoma!, Sally Brown
in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Thea in Spring Awakening, and Ulla in The Producers.
Julian Engle (Ensemble) is a 7th grader at Kromrey Middle School. He is excited to be back with FST after
playing Gavroche last summer in Les Miserables. Julian has also performed with MTM, CTM, and VACT and
sings in his church choir. Besides theatre, Julian enjoys soccer, cross country, and plays a mean saxophone.
Christopher Fechtelkotter (Giuseppe Zangara) is thrilled to be making his Four Seasons debut alongside such
a killer cast! Majoring in Theatre & Drama and studying opera with Paul Rowe at UW, Chris has been recently
seen as Sir Henry Baskerville in University Theatre's Hound of the Baskervilles, Larry Foreman in University
Theatre's Cradle Will Rock, Madison Savoyards' Pirates of Penzance, CTM's A Christmas Carol, University
Opera's La Boheme, and as Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz.
Scott Haden (Balladeer) is thrilled to be joining Four Seasons Theatre for the first time! Scott has enjoyed
acting for theatres across the country, including American Players Theatre, Utah Shakespeare Festival,
Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Writers’ Theatre (Jeff Nomination), Children’s Theatre of Madison, Madison
Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, and Theatre at the Center. He is a member of Actors’
Equity, and is proud to serve as the Communications Director at Forward Theater Company in Madison.
Erica Rosenfeld Halverson (Ensemble) is a Professor of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison where she studies how people learn in and through the arts. She is the co-founder of
Barrel of Monkeys in Chicago and currently performs in Madison with Four Seasons Theatre and with
Children’s Theatre of Madison. She also has the best family in the entire world. No doubt.
Michael Herold (Proprietor) has been seen in many productions in Madison with the Madison Rep, CTM, and
Forward Theater Company, of which he was a founding member. Michael was last seen in Four Seasons
Theatre’s Great Dames Songbook and in Forward’s production of Sons of the Prophet. He began his career
with the Ohio Shakespeare Festival in 1979 and joined Actors’ Equity in 1991.
Micah Herstand (John Hinckley), a Madison native, is a User Experience developer, Human-Computer
Interaction researcher, and part-time student at UW–Madison. This is his fourth production with Four
Seasons Theatre. Previous roles elsewhere include Tateh in Ragtime with the Black Rep of St. Louis and Motel
in Fiddler on the Roof with Washington University in St. Louis. He also performed in the Muny's 2012
production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
Daniel Jajewski (David Herold/Ensemble) is very excited to be working with Four Seasons Theatre again. His
most recent roles include Mark (RENT, MPT), Understudy of Al/Greg (A Chorus Line, MPT), Sailor (South
Pacific, St. Bernard Players), and Paul (Red, Hot, & Cole, MTG).
Jordan Peterson (Leon Czolgosz) has performed with Baraboo Theatre Guild, St. Bernard Players, Stoughton
Village Players, Music Theatre of Madison, Four Seasons Theatre, Madison Theatre Guild, OUT!Cast Theatre,
and the UW Varsity Band. Recent highlights include Company (SVP), RENT (FST), Side by Side by
Sondheim (FST/MTG), One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest (MTG), Floyd Collins (MTM), Guys and Dolls (SBP),
and Into the Woods (BTG). He is an IT Systems Architect with the State of WI.
Dan Plummer (Ensemble) recently appeared in the FST summer production of Kiss Me, Kate. Dan has
performed with Aspen Opera Theatre, the Chicago Lyric Opera chorus, and was a Metropolitan Opera
National Council district finalist. Dan has advanced music degrees from UW-Madison and New England
Conservatory. Today, he is General Director for Opera for the Young, with whom he has toured, recorded,
and adapted children’s opera scores that have received National Endowment for the Arts awards.
Meghan Randolph (Sara Jane Moore) is the founder and Executive Director of MTM, a small professional
theatre producing lesser known musicals in Madison (www.mtmadison.com). She has worked extensively as
a performer and director with her company as well as Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Forward Theater, Four
Seasons Theatre, Madison Opera, CTM, Tapit/New Works, and many others. Prior to moving to Madison she
appeared on the national tour of Cats and in concert with Ricky Ian Gordon. She holds a BFA in musical
theatre from the University of Michigan.
Greg Reed (Charles Guiteau) is proud to be returning for his 9th production with Four Seasons Theatre.
Recent favorite roles include Kodaly in She Loves Me (Four Seasons Theatre), Harold Hill in The Music Man
(VACT) and Leo Frank in Parade (MTM). When not performing on stage, Greg can be found performing as a
special education teacher. Assassins is one of his all-time favorite shows and he is honored to be performing
it with such a talented group.
Trevor Rees (Lee Harvey Oswald) is a third year candidate in the MFA Acting/Directing program at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received a BA in both Theatre and Communications from Cardinal
Stritch University and has worked extensively in the theatre both professionally and non-professionally. Some
of his professional experience includes performing with American Folklore Theatre, Children’s Theater of
Madison, Derby Dinner Playhouse, and Renaissance Theaterworks. Trevor would like to thank Jess, Sarah,
and Karen for this wonderful opportunity, his family and friends for all of their support, and his fiancé Izzy for
being his best friend!
Hannah Ripp-Dieter (Ensemble) is a Madison-based actor and recent graduate of the UW-Madison. Recent
credits include Travesties (American Players Theatre, u/s), Spring Awakening (Undergraduate Theatre
Association, Amy Gottlieb), Dancing at Lughnasa (University Theatre), and Housebound (selfwritten/produced). Favorite past roles include anything she has ever played that was originally intended for a
man. Much love and thanks to family, friends, and JP, for their support and sincerest thanks to Four Seasons
Theatre for this incredible opportunity.
Ross Shenker (Ensemble) is a native Madisonian currently residing in New York City. Last summer he played
Babet/Pimp in Four Season's Les Miserables, and also served as keyboardist for Ragtime and Aspects of Love.
He received a B.A. in Theater from Wesleyan University where favorite roles included Sweeney in Sweeney
Todd and Hastings/Tyrrell in Richard III. He has worked with Children's Theater of Madison, Theatre LILA,
Music Theatre of Madison, and Rogue Machine Theatre in L.A.
Christiaan Smith-Kotlarek (John Wilkes Booth) is a multifaceted artist who performs opera, jazz, pop, theatre
and original music. His songwriting took center stage when his former rock band opened for Barack Obama.
In opera, he has sung in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Pavarotti’s hometown of Pesaro, Italy.
Christiaan was recently featured on BroadwayWorld.com’s Jule Styne Tribute concert with Tony Awardwinners Alice Ripley and Randy Graff. He is set to make his solo cabaret debut later this year.
Sarah Streich (Emma Goldman/Ensemble) has appeared in several Four Seasons Theatre productions,
including the roles of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Percy Talbot in The Spitfire Grill (in partnership with
Madison Theatre Guild,) and most recently as Lois Lane in Kiss Me, Kate. She has worked with several
different local theatre companies since moving to Madison in 2004. Originally from the Chicago area, she
studied acting at both Illinois State University and the College of DuPage. She lives with her husband, two
daughters, and three cats.
Bart Terrell (Sam Byck) is very happy to be back with FST, having performed as Baptista in Kiss Me, Kate and
in The Irving Berlin Songbook. Other local credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye), The Odd Couple
(Murray the Cop), Christmas Carol (Fezziwig), Sweeney Todd (Judge Turpin), and Assassins (Guiteau).
