You will want to explain the importance of ancient Greek theater and how it has affected our theater and
drama today. Discuss the way that the theater was set up, how plays were performed during ancient Greek
times, etc. Terms you must teach (you may add other elements of theater as well):

Explain to the class how famous psychiatrist Sigmund Freud used the play Oedipus to define a well known
psychological theory called the Oedipus Complex. Explain the beliefs behind the theory and explain how
that theory is often applied to other literary works.
