macular degeneration, diabetes, myopia,
floaters, retinal tears and detachment, and
macular disease.
An ocular oncologist world-renowned for
her discoveries and melanoma treatment,
Dr. McCannel plays a significant role
in treating both benign and malignant
eye diseases. Her practice integrates early
dete ction, prognostic information, and
health psychology consistent with her
philosophy of a personalized approach
to patient care.

University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada,
where she later complete d b oth her
residency and PhD in the Department
of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences.
She interne d at the University Health
Network, Toronto Hospital, and obtained
her fellowship in vitre oretinal diseases
and surgery at the Massachusetts Eye
and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Me dical
School, Boston.
