What is Faith?
• Oxford Definition:
Faith is having
complete trust or
confidence in someone
or something.
What is Islamic Faith?
• Islamic Faith: The Belief in the Unity of
God or Tawheed. This is the primary
Kalimah(word) of Islam: “Laa ilaaha
illallah” Which means “There is no one
worthy of worship but Allah”.
Impurities
Islamic Faith is Pure
Worshiping others along with Allah
Ascribing human imperfections to Allah
Devine trinity
Mediation between man and Allah
Belief in Oneness of Allah
Belief in Angels of Allah
Belief in the Revelations (Holy Books)
Belief in the Prophecy (Prophets of Allah)
Belief in the Day of Judgment
Belief in Predestination
"How can I seek
a lord other
than GOD?
While He is the
Lord of all
things?" (6:164).
Verse of Holy Quran
"the Lord of the
east and the
west and of what
is between
them" (26: 28)
Verse of Holy Quran
Allah is not the
god of only one
clan, one people
or one certain
province. He is
rather "Lord of
the Worlds'1
(1:2) "the Lord
of the heavens
and the earth
(18:14).
Verse of Holy Quran
Verse of Holy Quran
• Muslims believe in the existence of one supreme and external god, the
creator and provider of all things. Allah is the lord of the worlds, he is
merciful and compassionate and the ruler of the Day of Judgment. Allah
has no equals, he is the all-knowing the beneficent and he is god of all
mankind.
" Say: " He is
GOD The One
and Only, The
Eternal cause of
all beings. He
begets not, nor
was He begotten
- And there is
none comparable
to Him" (112:1-4)
First it draws the attention of those
signs of the universe
"Surely in the creation of the
heavens and the earth, in the
disparity of night and day, in
the ships that course in the
sea with that which benefits
people, in the water that
GOD sends down from the
sky, reviving with it the earth
after it was barren, in His
spreading in it all kinds of
living things, in the changing
of the winds and the subjected
clouds between the sky and
the earth, indeed are signs
for people who have
understanding" (2: 164).
Secondly, impels man to recognize
the existence of the Mighty and
Great God and Lord Allah
"So set yourself steadfast to the
Religion on a True Path. The
instinctive Religion which GOD
has created in mankind. There is
no alteration in GOD's creation.
"This is the Right Religion, but
most people do not know" (30:
30).
Thirdly, Historical Lessons
The case of Noah: ''But they
called him a liar so we rescued
him and those with him in the Ark,
and We drowned those who had
disbelieved in our Revelations,
indeed they were blind people"
(7: 64) .
Angels are pure and spiritual beings created from light, a
magnificent creation of Allah, they are also obliged to worship
Allah and they are Allah’s chosen way of sending his commands
to mankind, they will descend in ranks on the last day as a sign
of the coming of the day of judgment, belief in the angels are
mandatory as a Muslim as it reinforces ones faith in the
almighty Allah
Muslims believe in the revelations sent by Allah to his
prophets and messengers. Muslims believe that Allah
revealed the Torah to Moses, the psalms to David, and the
gospel to Jesus. The coming of a prophet like Moses with
a new scripture is promised by the Torah, in Deuteronomy
18:15-20, and Jesus also promised a prophet to come
after him, with the explanation of all things in the gospel
of john 16:7-15. The holy Quran is literal word of Allah,
an article of faith brought by angel Gabriel to Prophet
Muhammad S.A.W. it is the last of the revelations, thus
compiling all the previous teaching together, as Allah is
one, his revelation is also one.
Belief in the prophets of Allah
all the prophets were humans; mortal beings
just like us. But they were the chosen ones
during their own time and appointed by
Allah to teach mankind. They were endowed
with divine revelations, for the sole purpose
of spreading Allah’s word and religion.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
was the final messenger of Allah.

Belief in Predestination
Muslims believe that Allah is
all knowing, that he has
measured out everything; the
sustenance in the world, the
span of our life, the amount of
our goodness and our evil and
everything that will happen to
us.
