Alumni event to feature classic cars, motorcycles, hot rods, and CAT equipment
AutomotiveenthusiastswillflocktotheAthensTechnicalCollegeAthensCampusSaturday,October26,forthe4thAnnualAthensTechnical
CollegeAlumniAssociationOpenCar&MotorcycleShowthatwillrunfrom11a.m.to3p.m.
Thisyear,alumniorganizershaveexpandedthevehicleshowingtoincludemotorcycles,andparticipantswillincludepeoplewithclassic
automobiles,ratrods,hotrodsandnewervehicles.AwardswillbegivenforBestofShow,BestMotorcycle,BestofDivisions,andTop25.Those
whowishtoshowtheircarsormotorcyclescanregisterfortheeventfor$20eachattheshowonSaturday.Allregistrantswillreceiveagoodybag
anddoorprizeticket.
Theeventisopentothepublic,andspectatorscanattendatnocharge.Concessionswillbeavailable,includingofferingsfromtheaward­
winningCulinaryArtsprogramatthecollege.
Additionally,CaterpillardealerYanceyBrotherswilldisplaynewCaterpillarequipment,andseveralAthensTechnicalCollegeprograms—
AutomotiveTechnologyRepair,AutomotiveCollisionRepair,EmergencyMedicalTechnician,andCommercialTruckDriving— willpresent
vehiclesforviewing.TheautomotiveprogramsexpecttoshowofftheMightyMaxtruckthatstudentsassembled.Thevehiclefeaturesa406­cubic­
inch,smallblockChevroletmotorthatgenerates450horsepower.
