To find the missing parts of a triangle using trig functions.
Write down what you know.
 Angles given, sides given (are they opposite or adjacent to the angle?)
 Use the Pythagorean Theorem if you are given 2 of the sides.
 If you are given 2 angles (90 and another angle), subtract both of these
angles from 180 and you will find the 3rd angle.
Write down all of the Trig ratios using the given information.
 Sin =
 Cos =
 Tan =
Solve. Get the variable by itself.

tan)***** Make sure your calculator is in Degree mode.*****
