Valeria Curti Curriculum Vitae Personal Information Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology awarded in September 2009 at the University of Pavia (104/110). The internship thesis was carried out in the laboratory of Plant Biotechnology, Department of Biology and Biotechnology “Lazzaro Spallanzani”. Master's degree of Science in Experimental and Applied Biology (path: Human Biology and Biomedical Sciences) obtained in September 2012 (110/110 cum laude) at the Laboratory of Immunology and Genetic Analysis of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (D.STA) of the University of Pavia. To date, PhD student of the Graduate School in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies of the Department of Drug Sciences, in co-tutorship with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the University of Pavia. Teaching assistant for teaching Technologies and Applications Laboratory, of the course Master's Degree in Sciences of Nature. Search Scope The main research topics are: 1) evaluation of gene expression and epigenetics, carried out at the Laboratory of Immunology, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (this research involves the study of differential expression of microRNAs in relation to tumor transformation and response to environmental stimuli) 2) the search for the molecular mechanisms underlying the biological effects of functional foods and nutraceutical substances with activity (this experimental activities relates to the isolation of RNA, the construction of cDNA libraries, sequencing of microRNA using methods NextGen - Illumina, quantitative analysis of expression of micro RNA associated with cell differentiation, tumor transformation and microRNA associated with anti – oxidan) 3) set up of chromatographic methods, such as HPLC-ESI-MSn and HPLC-PAD methods useful to the chemical characterization of nutraceutical products in complex food matrix.
