LIF has a number of other activities including cholinergic neuron differentiation, control of stem cell pluripotency, bone and fat metabolism, mitogenesis of certain factor dependent cell lines and promotion of megakaryocyte production in vivo. Human and murine mature LIF exhibit a 78% sequence identity at the amino acid level. Human LIF is equally active on human and mouse cells. Murine LIF is approximately 1000 fold less active on human cells than human LIF. Recombinant Human Leukemia Inhibitory Factor/LIF produced in E. coli is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 180 amino acids with a molecular mass of 19.7 kD. Synonyms: Leukemia Inhibitory Factor, LIF, Differentiation-Stimulating Factor, D Factor, Melanoma-Derived LPL Inhibitor, MLPLI, Emfilermin, LIF, HILDA Source: Molecular Weight: Purity: Endotoxin level: Stabilizer: Formulation: E.coli Supplier: Novoprotein Inc. 19.7 kDa Greater than 95% as determined by SEC-HPLC and reducing SDS-PAGE. < 0.1 ng/µg (IEU/µg) none Lyophilized from a 0.2 μM filtered solution of 20mM PB, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% Tween 20, pH 7.4 Biological Activity*: ED50 is less than 0.01 ng/ml. Specific Activity of 1.0 x 108 IU/mg. *measured by the M1 cell differentiation assay. Reconstitution: Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/ml. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. Please aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Stability: Lyophilized samples are stable for greater than six months at -20°C to -70°C. Reconstituted SCF should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Usage: Human LIF is offered for research use only. Not for drug use. Not for human use ** please note: always centrifuge product before opening vial ** Product Information • Catalogue number: • Size: C017-A 10 µg C017-B 50 µg C017-D 500 µg C017-C 1000 µg ORDER UNDER www.pelobiotech.com or FAX + 49 (0)89 517 286 59-88
