Climate and Terrestrial Biodiversity Chapter 6 Data Analysis: Interpreting Graphs – Climate In this chapter, you learned how long‐term variations in the average temperature and average precipitation play a major role in determining the types of deserts, forests, and grasslands found in different parts of the world. Below are typical annual climate graphs for a tropical grassland (savanna) in Africa, a temperate grassland in the midwestern Canada, and a polar grassland (tundra) in northern Canada. Using the data above, answer the following questions: 1. In what month (or months) does the most precipitation fall in each of these areas? 2. What are the driest months in each of these areas? 3. What is the coldest month in the tropical grassland? 4. What is the warmest month in the temperate grassland? 5. What is the coldest month in the polar grassland?
