Final availability of positions is contingent upon final course determinations, enrolment and budgetary approval. The Department Standards and Policies are available in the Department office and in the CUPE, Local 3902 office. The rates of pay correspond with the current CUPE Agreement and are effective September 1, 2013 as follows: Undergraduate (UG) $42.05 per hour + 4% vacation pay SGS I $42.05 per hour + 4% vacation pay SGS II $42.05 per hour + 4% vacation pay COURSE NUMBER & TITLE ANT101H5 S Intro to Biological Anthropology & Archaeology ANT102H5 F Intro to Sociocultural & Linguistic Anthropology COURSE ENROLMENT (EST.) 800 total for two lecture sections NUMBER OF POSITIONS (EST.) 1 SIZE OF APPOINTMENT (HRS) DATES OF APPOINTMENT QUALIFICATIONS 140 hours January 1, 2015 to April 30, 2014 900 total for two lecture sections 1 140 hours September 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014 Successful applicants will have completed undergraduate and/or graduate course in biological anthropology and/or archaeology; an ability to communicate information clearly; previous teaching and marking experience in ANT101 or related courses may be preferred. Skills and background to complement current instructor & TAs will be given preference. May need to cover Thursdays and Fridays 9-5 pm practicals. Successful applicants will have completed undergraduate and/or graduate courses in sociocultural and/or linguistic anthropology, and have an ability to communicate information clearly. Previous experience in ANT102 or related course may be preferred. Skills and background to complement instructor & other TAs may be given preference. Not tutorials, but must invigilate and be available for student meetings and to meet instructor at UTM. DUTIES Teaching assistant to help manage course, including management of marks, backup for lectures and tutorials in emergencies, invigilate tests and final examination, consult with other TAs, instructor and students; possibly conduct practicals, mark practical assignments and examinations.
