Cut a hole out of the top of any Plastic jug (see pic). It needs to be large enough for your child’s hand to fit inside so he/she may place seashells into it during the field trip. Make sure students’ Name is on the jug. You may use any type of plastic jug: milk, detergent, kitty litter, ice cream container, etc. This can be a “family fun” project. Select a marine (ocean) theme and/or animal and decorate your jug based on the theme. A page full of examples is included to help spark ideas. (If you choose to use Tempera paints or markers that smear, please spray the jug with a sealant, so the paint won't come off on your child’s clothes!) Marine Science Field Trip Jug Contest!!!
