DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING - SHIPYARD - SEATTLE, WA
Are you looking to step up and manage the engineering functions for a shipyard
with a focus on newbuilds? We’re looking an experienced Senior Naval Architect
with fabrication or shipyard experience to manage the engineering departments for
our client.
Responsibilities will include:

Leading the Engineering departments including all staff
Lead the design and engineering teams to accomplish the company goals for
newbuild projects
Ability to solve complex engineering issues in consultation with staff
Reviews work prepared by planning and field engineers
Checks job information for completeness and reviews calculations of designs
Prepares and maintains budgets and schedules and supervises administrative
functions pertaining to jobs in progress
Provides engineering services to other departments as required
Coordinates the activities of project engineers, naval architects, and production
personnel
Discusses proposed changes or additions with customers during job progression
Work with senior management to improve operational efficiency of the yard
Desired skills and experience:
• Degree in Naval Architecture
• 10+ years of experience with fabrication / ship building
• Experience building PSV / OSV / AHT vessels is preferred
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects
• Solid IT skills – Primavera experience is a plus
