Science 8 Cell Analogy Project
In groups of 1 or 2, you will create an analogy of a Plant or Animal cell as assigned
by your teacher.
Please use page 23 of your text book, or the internet as resources.
Your analogy may be in the form of a story, poster, model, report…(clear any other
ideas with your teacher – NOT a PowerPoint).
This is an analogy – you are comparing the
functions of the cell organelles to a place,
object, or situation…in order to help
understand. You cannot use a human or a
city. You are not producing a model of a cell.
Your project must contain:
1.
At least 10 out of the 12 organelles
2. A clearly shown understanding of the functions of the cell organelles
3. Appropriate science vocabulary and correct spelling
4. Creativity and uniqueness…(I am looking for that “wow” factor)
5. Clear labelling on how your 10 organelles are compared to your chosen
analogy.
6. A paragraph explaining your 5 strongest comparisons & an explanation of how
a cell is NOT like whatever you are comparing it to. NOT glued to project,
just stapled.
