FLAS Fellowship Intent Form
If you intend to apply for a FLAS fellowship, please complete this form and return it to the Department by either email
([email protected]) or postal mail so that we know where to forward copies of your application
materials.
Please Note:
1. Applicants are solely responsible for obtaining and submitting a completed FLAS Application (with
any supporting materials) to the appropriate Center in order to be considered for the fellowship
competition. This form is not a FLAS Application. The application deadline is January 15, 2017.
2. If you are eligible to receive a FLAS fellowship, you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to apply for a
fellowship due to the limited fellowship resources in the Department of Anthropology.
3. Students must notify the Department of Anthropology by returning this form that they have or will be
competing in the FLAS application process.
4. International students ARE NOT eligible for FLAS fellowships.
5. Students already proficient in a language ARE NOT eligible for a FLAS fellowship in the language of
proficiency.

By submitting this form, you are requesting that the Department of Anthropology duplicate your Rackham
Application, Statement of Purpose, Personal Statement, letters of recommendation, and transcripts and send
them to the appropriate Area Studies Center as indicated below. You are responsible for submitting the
FLAS Application and any additional materials required to the appropriate Area Studies center.
