Optical Ultra-Broadband for
High Density Communities
Due to explosive growth of bandwidth intensive applications, the demand for high-speed broadband is increasing rapidly. Many service providers and telecom operators have started initiatives to deploy FTTH for high
density market segments such Multi Dwelling Units
(MDUs). The primary goal is to enable the deployment of
innovative solutions that support the telco operators,
service providers and infrastructure companies’ initiatives for delivering ultra fast premium services to high
density communities.
BEC’s High Density Optical Ultra Broadband solutions
offer a complete end-to-end system supporting delivery
of high bandwidth internet services to a large number of customers without sacrificing control or manageability.
Subscribers also benefit from an all-in-one high capacity IAD (Integrated Access Device) gateway with four LAN ports
and high performance wireless service.
Service providers targeting Fiber to the Building (FTTB) now have the opportunity to provide multiple services to
residential or small business users over IP. This solution creates a powerful data delivery backbone using a minimum of
capital investment, and delivering huge gains on your existing legacy networks (DSL, ADSL, T1 etc).
This solution is suitable for deployment in urban or suburban environments, where residential accommodations are
grouped in close proximity, such as multi-dwelling units and multi-tenant units (MDU/MTU).
Overview
From the NOC (Network Operations Center) at the service provider side, an efficient method of connecting users is
essential while maintaining quality of service, ease of maintenance, and speed of connection. With the great advantages
offered by fiber, it’s practical to connect all but the last few meters over fiber cable, eliminating problems of electromagnetic interference, and lightning, while delivering high bandwidth over long distances. The BEC FGS-2024 is an excellent
choice for Metro Ethernet networks. It combines a high performance managed L3 Aggregation switch designed with
code redundancy, redundant power options and SFP DDMI. As an aggregation switch, the equipment is built to deliver
power, performance and reliability, all in one package to satisfy the needs of high bandwidth. Providing robust performance for quick connection to network using code redundancy feature, in case of firmware upgrade failure, is one of its
many cost-effective solutions that preserve your investments.
As L3 Ethernet switches are deployed in large-scale networks such as telecoms, campuses and enterprises, the need for
long reach and stability is essential. Considering this, the BEC FGS-2024 is perfectly designed to offer a gigabit solution
with its 24 slot 100/1000Mbps multi-rate SFP ports and 4 Gigabit combo ports. In addition, the switch is integrated with
advanced software features such as Static Route, Inter-VLAN routing, Dual Homing, Xpress Ring, GARP/GVRP, IGMP filter
and combine with LACP, (R)STP, MVR, ACL, QinQ etc., to increase network efficiency and performance. As a result, the
subscribers in the network can enjoy faster downloads of large files that require high bandwidth without any hesitation.
Each BEC FGS-2024-4S gives you up to 24 connections to the next layer down, the BEC FS-1024. As a 24-port Layer 2
switch, the BEC FS-1024 offers 24 ports for connection to the subscriber. At the subscriber side, BEC 9800VN SFP fiber
IAD offers both wired and wireless internet access to the end user. The entire network is remotely manageable from the
NOC site, meaning your engineers no longer need to physically go to the customer site to fix any problems that may
occur.
High Bandwith, Good Coverage
The BEC FS-1024 is a high performance advanced
switch specifically designed for access layer
deployments without compromising on reliability.
Most accepted flexible management and monitoring options such as SNMP and RMON are integrated
into the switch to increase efficiency and performance of the network. Rich software features,
including VLAN capabilities, spanning-tree protocol
and port isolation are implemented in the switch so
the service providers can offer high value Ethernet
services more efficiently and profitably.
The switch is equipped with 24 multi-rate
(10/100/1000Mbps) copper ports and 4 Gigabit SFP
combo ports to deliver multi-rate transmission speeds that perfectly suit for Metro Ethernet network environments.
Using its Fiber ports, the BEC FS-1024 quickly uplinks to the aggregation switches in the network to provide high
bandwidth uplinks over variable distances. Thereby, service providers can take advantage of the switch’s high port
density to offer high speed connectivity to their subscribers and also extend their reach within metro areas.
Lastly at the customer premise, the highly feature-rich BEC 98000VNL IAD residential gateway enables ISPs to offer
customers Premium Triple Play services (multi-data, multi-voice, multi-video) with the latest wireless LAN and management features.
