CorporateControllerPositionDescription:
TheCorporateControllerisresponsibleforoverseeingallfacetsoffinancialoperations,includingthemonthly
closecycle,internalandexternalfinancialreportingincludingSECfilings,internalcontrols,andpolicy
developmentandimplementation.TheCorporateControllerwillalsosupportallkeyaccountingandpublic
marketfinancialoperations.
CandidateProfile:
Thisindividualwillbeabletomanageprocessesandsystemstoachieveaneffectiveenvironmentoffinancial
controlsthatissupportiveoftheoverallbusiness.Theidealcandidatewillhavedemonstratedtheabilityto
design,communicate,andmanagefinancialreportingprocessesattheparentcompanyanditsAustralian
subsidiary.ReportingtotheCFO,theCorporateControllerwillinterfacewithallmembersofthecompany’s
leadershipteamandwithallcompanyfunctionalareas,includingmanufacturing,R&D,clinical,andbusiness
development.Sheorhewillbeenergizedbytheopportunitytounderstandtheoverallbusinessandhelpthe
companyachievebroaderstrategicbusinessobjectives.
Responsibilities:
AsakeymemberoftheFinanceleadershipteam,thispersonwillberesponsibleforallaspectsofthe
accountingcloseprocess,financialstatementproduction,SECreporting,andtax.Thispersonwilloversee
otherspecialistsinthefinanceteamasneeded.TheCorporateControllerwillworkcloselywiththe
company’soutsideauditorsaswellastheinternaloperationalteamstorefineandsupportaneffective
environmentoffinancialreportingandcontrols.Dutiesinclude:

Managetimelyandaccuratepreparationofmonthly,quarterly,andannualfinancialaccounting
resultsthroughthecloseandconsolidationprocessforU.S.andAustraliaoperations.
Leadtherelationshipwithourindependentauditors;managetheannualauditandquarterlyreview
process.
Leadtheexternalfinancialreportingfunction,includingSECreportingandreportingtoother
regulatoryauthoritiesinjurisdictionsworldwide.
Participateinpreparationofthequarterlyearningsreleasesandinvestor-facingcalls.
Develop,maintain,andenforcetechnicalaccountingpoliciesandproceduresinaccordancewithUS
GAAP(andforpurposesofsomecountry-specificreports,IFRS).
Leadanalysisoftechnicalaccountingissues:Providewell-supportedanddocumentedinterpretation
ofGAAPandIFRSliterature,identifyrelevantchangesinaccountingguidance,andmonitorprocesses
forcompliancewithaccountingliterature.
Recommendaccountingtreatmentforbusinessdevelopmenttransactions.
EnsureSarbanes-Oxleycompliance.Implementappropriateinternalcontrols.
Overseecomplianceandfilingsforallareasoftax,includingcorporateincometax,usetax,and
overseastaxes.
Overseeaccountingforclinicaltrialsandprojects.
Manage,mentor,anddevelopahighperforming,professionalteam.
Helptoseta“toneatthetop”thatstressesethics,integrity,andgoodgovernance.
