The project to build a new FRANCE was developed by SEINE ALLIANCE SAS, founded in
2004 by Didier SPADE as part of its Parisian river tourism activities which began in 1990
with the setting up of the Compagnie des Bateaux à Roue, sold in 2008.
Today SEINE ALLIANCE operates a new event business in Paris under the corporate name
"Paris Yacht Marina", and operates several small luxury yachts as well as a 54m prestige
ship, the "Clipper Paris", built in Saint-Nazaire in 2007.
However, the core of its business is the creation of the new France cruise ship, aimed at
the luxury cruise market and made possible with the skill of numerous partners.
The schedule plans for construction work to begin in 2013 with the launch in 2015.
The new FRANCE is intended to be a new generation liner and a showcase for the talent of
French creators of decorative arts, French luxury brands and an ambassador for French
cuisine, namely thanks to the know-how of leading starred chef : Alain Ducasse, who has
made his skills available to the project.
SEINE ALLIANCE has also created in Paris, on the banks of the River Seine, where the nose
of the former SS France, which later became the SS Norway, is on show, a space dedicated
to the project: the "France Workshop", located at the Port de Grenelle. This space is the
project's "headquarters", although it can also be privatized.
