JV Competition Outline
Essay – 40 minutes


1 prompt on the novel, 1 prompt on Social Science, and 1 prompt on Science
Students will choose one prompt to write on
Speech



Prepared speech only – 2 to 2.5 minutes in length
Students will only be given a “30 second remaining” & “time has expired” time card warnings
Maximum score for speech - 700 points (since there is no impromptu)

For 2016, scoring will be same as main competition. Super Quiz is a completely separate event.
