1. Why do muscles cover so much of our body? Parts can’t move
without muscles.
2. Are all our muscles shown in the graphic? No How do you know?
We have over 600 muscles. Some are inside our other organs and
can’t be seen.
3. When you move your arm, what type muscle cells are used? Striated

5. Where might I find a smooth type muscle cell? Skin or any internal

6. Are the muscles shown in the graphic voluntary or involuntary? How
do you know? Voluntary because these are the muscles attached to
bones. The involuntary muscles are organs or in various organs.
7. Why are there two muscles on each bone in my arm? Muscles work
in pairs. As one contracts (pulls) the other relaxes.
8. Which body system does not use muscles? None. Muscles are used
by all of the other systems.
9. What is the only action a muscle can make? Muscles can only pull.
10. If a muscle responds quickly and powerfully, it is said to be ______.
