Oncology Working Group


Pat Peller spoke at the ZERO Summit to End Prostate Cancer about Molecular Imaging and
Prostate Cancer. Pictures are up on the DiscoverMI Facebook page (not live yet).
Session proposals were sent to Commission on Cancer and ASCO.
Neurology Working Group



RSNA: We are working on a proposal for amyloid and DATscan sessions.
American Academy of Neurology: Last Friday we had lunch with Mark Pascu to talk about
session ideas for their next annual meeting. He will help connect us to the right person.
Lewy Body Dementia Association: We have a call later this week to discuss possible
collaboration.
Cardiology Working Group


American College of Cardiology: Ambassador is Prem Soman. He is reaching out to ACC to
determine where SNM can provide expertise in the form of a session proposal for 2012.
American Heart Association: Ambassador is Marcelo DiCarli; members will be attending the
scientific sessions in November and will approach AHA program officials with session ideas for
2012.
Patient Advocacy Advisory Board (PAAB)



The Alzheimer’s Association is providing a speaker for the Dementia Summit for the MWM.
The Executive Director of the Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Gary Bloom, has accepted
invitation to join our PAAB.
The PAAB met last month to review the patient website and storyboards of the patient video. All
members were very pleased with quality and appearance of the content. The website is
scheduled to launch this month.
Cardiovascular Molecular Imaging (CVMI) Symposium at NIH




ASE and ASNC have committed to in-kind support in the form of marketing.
ISMRM and SCMR are also considering the same type of support.
Bioscan is contributing $10,000.
The sessions are all set and the Education Dept is working on getting CME and VOICE credit
approval.
