ThefirstsatellitelaunchedintospacewastheRussianSputnikIin1957.Thiswasthefirsthuman

humanstotravelthatfarintoouterspaceandreturntoearth.Manytimes,scientistsexpect
thattheirrobotsorsatelliteswilldisintegrateonthereturntriptoearth.
Roboticarmshavebeenusedformanyyearstolaunchsatellitesandassistastronautswiththeir
missions.
OthermorerecentspacerobotshavebeenusedtoexplorethesurfaceofMars.
