Clauses
ACLAUSEisagroupofwordshavingasubjectandapredicateandformingapart
ofasentence.Therearetwomainkindsofclauses--Independent(orMain)--
makessensebyitself,andDependent(orSubordinate)--doesnotmakesenseby
itself.Subordinateclausesmustbejoinedtoindependentclauses.Therearethree
typesofsubordinateclauses.
AdjectiveClauses:Adjectiveclausesmodifynounsorpronounsandusually

Okay, so why is all this sentence combining stuff important?
Assuggestedatthestartofthisunit,understandinghowsentencestructuresaffect
theover-allimpactofapieceofwritingisimportant.Sentencecombining,then,isan
effectivetechniquetodemonstratesentencelevelmaturity.Youngerwritersrely
heavilyonshortsentences;moreexperienceswritersoftentakeintoaccountthe
feelorflowoftheirwritingthroughthesyntaxemployed.
