Types of Forces
What is a force?

There are a variety of forces. Below are 5 kinds of different forces.

Fair

special type of frictional force that acts upon objects as they travel through air;
usually opposes motion

Fapplied = force applied by a person or another object; can be a push or a pull
Ffriction = frictional force as one object touches across another; usually opposes motion
Fnormal = support force exerted upon an object that’s in contact with another stable object
Fgravity = a downward force with which Earth, moon, or other massively large object



