(noun)
the science which studies stars, planets, comets,
and galaxies and their movements
Renaissance era astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus,
proposed a model of the solar system with the sun as its
center.
astrology
(noun) the study of the supposed influences of the stars on
human affairs by their positions in relation to each other
Believers in astrology claim there is a connection between
celestial bodies and one’s personal life.

asteroid
(noun)
a star-like body in space; a small planet
one of thousands of small planets between Mars and Jupiter
with diameters from a fraction of a kilometer to nearly
800 kilometers;
The asteroid belt lies between the planets Mars and
Jupiter.
aster
(noun)
a fall flower shaped like a star
The aster is a popular garden flower because of its colorful
star-shaped blooms.
asterisk
(noun)
a star used in printing to refer to a margin note
According to The World Factbook, the population of the
United States is 303,824,640*.

An asterisk is sometimes used to indicate a footnote,
especially when there is only one on the page.
disaster
(noun) sudden great misfortune, especially something
(as a flood or tornado) that happens suddenly and

star-shaped: shaped like a star
-A starfish, some flowers, and some crystals have a
stellate shape.
-The stellate form appears often in
nature, even at the cellular level.
constellation
(noun)
a group of stars forming a shape:
a group of stars visible from Earth that forms a distinctive
pattern and has a name, often derived from Greek
mythology, linked to its shape.
Early astrologers “connected the dots” between stars and
named these constellations after mythological figures.

like a star; most important;
principal; leading; outstanding
