2. Search Panel
Specific drug search by Name
If you’re not sure of the complete spelling. . . acetamin
If you spell it wrong. . . ibuprophen
3. Search Results panel
List of drugs that match your search term
Lexi-Drug monograph appears at the top of the list
Results sorted by the database from which the information is available
Select the appropriate drug
The left panel contains links to sections of the monograph
The right panel contains the full-text of the monograph
Can scroll through the alphabetical list in the panel to get to the appropriate section of the
monograph
Use the “Jump to” drop-down bar to access the appropriate section
Use the tabs across the top to view additional information about the drug

4. Dental Alerts/Lexi-Interact
Alerts/Interact button in the Search panel
Enter drug name in Lookup window
Click on the desired drug name
Drug appears below with a check box
When list is complete, click the Alerts button
Dental specific warnings appear in the right screen

Risk ratings appear
A – no known interaction
B – no action needed
C – monitor therapy
D – consider therapy modification
X – avoid combination
Click on the highlighted term for more information
Click on the Office RX button
Select the drug regimen you will be using/prescribing
Select Interactions
Review the results to assist with selecting the correct medication

identify drugs based on imprint, dosage form, shape, or color
Patient Education
locate and print patient education materials for adults or pediatrics
Calculation
contains calculations covering pediatric and adult antibiotic and local anesthetic
conversions
