Directions: Using pages 137-138, put the following
events in chronological order in your notes. Then
create a comic strip to tell the story of the
Peloponnesian War. You will NOT be graded on
artistic ability but on neatness, effort and creativity.
 Sparta defeats Athens
 Pericles decides to wait for an opportunity to strike
Sparta and its allies from the sea
 Athens grows in wealth, prestige, and power and
other city-states begin to view Athens with hostility
 Athens and its allies surrender
 Spartans march into Athenian territory, burning the
Athenian food supply
 Athens and Sparta sign a truce
 Plague strikes Athens, killing one-third of the
population (including Pericles)
 Sparta declares war on Athens
 Athenians sends a fleet to destroy Syracuse, one
of Sparta’s wealthiest allies
 Athens has strong navy/Sparta has strong army
