1) Adding a suffix rules (for –er, -est, -ing, -ed)
 Just add the suffix
 Double the consonant and add the suffix
 Drop the ‘e’ and add the suffix
 Change the ‘y’ to an ‘i’ and add the suffix

2) ge/dge spelling for the ‘j’ sound at the end of a word:
We have learnt about the /j/ sound at the end of words represented by either /dg/ or a /dge/. The spelling rule is that after a short vowel sound, the spelling is dge like fudge. After a long vowel, the spelling is ge like change. Words to practice with this spelling rule are:  hedge  wedge  fudge  village  badge  budge  large  range  orange  sledge 3) Silent letters at the start of words There are some words that have silent letters at the start that we have been learning, these are a silent w/k/g.

4) –le for the ‘lll’ spelling at the end of words (NEW) Some words have the –le spelling for the ‘lll’ sound at the end of words.
