JOB SUMMARY:
Develops long‐term and short term marketing strategies to increase the visibility and recognition of the District’s brand, mission, schools, and programs. SUPERVISION:
Supervised by Communications/Community Relations Director. Receives general supervision from upper level manager. Positions in this classification exercises no supervision. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
 Responsible for development, creative design, implementation, tracking, and maintenance of marketing promotions and initiatives across all print and digital channels; such as web, email and mobile applications targeted towards achieving the District’s vision.  Increases brand visibility and loyalty with online communities through conversations on current events, promotions, and District schools, programs, and services.  Directs graphic designer for all marketing collateral and campaign pieces, both print and digital. Responsible for creating the brand’s overall look and feel.  Plan, design, and organize overall marketing strategies for the San Bernardino City Unified School District.  Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual marketing plan and schedule.  Adhere to the marketing budget, track results, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.  Create marketing campaigns to support the organization's mission, programs, schools, and special events.  Market District achievements and promote via social media and other avenues to help create momentum and awareness.  Track and measure the level of community engagement.  Participate in strategic planning.  Develop brochures and other print materials, create visually appealing promotional materials, advertisements, signage, and event flyers for all District needs.  Work collaboratively with staff to develop and coordinate projects.  Work with a committee to rebrand District’s image and communicate the brand.  Perform market research.  Social media monitoring and marketing.  Assist with planning and development of conferences and annual event marketing materials.  Keep current with technology and advise District on innovative marketing methods and trends.  Conceptualizes and designs individual collateral and comprehensive campaign pieces.  Responsible for creating a consistent brand look and feel across all print and digital channels.  Develops and implements advertising programs that further advance marketing objectives.  Take photographs for use in print and online materials. Performs job related duties as assigned EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:  Knowledge of strong writing skills.  Knowledge and Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Illustrator, and Photoshop).  Knowledge of proven passion for technology.  Knowledge of working knowledge of RFPs and basic marketing principles.  Knowledge of excellent design and communication skills.  Knowledge of must be organized, detailed, and results focused.  Knowledge of must possess a strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.  Ability to self‐directed, able to work independently and juggle multiple projects concurrently with the ability to prioritize.  Ability to demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Ability to HTML proficiency a plus. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION/TRAINING:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Marketing, Graphic Design, or closely related field. AND Two (2) years full time paid marketing experience. AND One (1) year full time paid graphic design experience. (May substitute 6 semester units for 1 year of experience.) SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:  Personal transportation for incidental travel. APPOINTMENT: Persons appointed to this position are subject to a probationary period of one (1) year, in accordance with Education Code 45301.
