Using plain ordinary
people to hit the
meaning that if
you don't do it,
you are not a
normal person.
Example of Total War
Propagandists use this
method to persuade people
to follow the crowd. Usually
they go, if you don't do this,
you will be missing out on a
lot of good stuff. While they
do this that also
simultaneously convince
the people already on the
band wagon to stay on the
band wagon.
Example of Conscription
Propagandists use this
technique to associate a
person with experience
to endorse their
product or cause by
having the person with
experience give the
"stamp of approval."
Technique to create fear
and arouse prejudice
by using negative
words and sarcasm to
create an unfavorable
opinion or hatred
against a group,
beliefs, ideas or
institutions they would
have us denounce.
These people employ
vague, sweeping
statements using
language associated
with values and beliefs
deeply held by the
audience without
providing supporting
information or reason.
Taking an object or
symbol that people
think of as having
power, and
associating it with
the product or
philosophy that the
poster is trying to
sell to the public.
Example of the Lusitania and an Atrocity
Propagandists use this
method to make the
best case possible for
their side, and the worst
case for the opposing
side. The propagandists
will only use the facts
that support his or her
side, so they do not
show the whole truth.
