· This half term the children will be
This half term we will continue our ‘Habitats’
theme. We will learn about animal classification
and use classification keys to identify unfamiliar
animals. We will be exploring food chains and
webs. To develop our investigation skills, we will
plan and carry out an investigation to find out
which habitat woodlice prefer.
working with the Music Support Team.

Year 3 and 4
This half term we will be exploring different
faiths, their places of worship and how they
compare to our own beliefs.
We will learn about:
• Sikhism and Gurdwaras.
• Islam and Mosques.
• Hinduism and Pujas.
PSHCE
Year 3 and 4 will learn to understand
how to respectfully treat others, the
importance of freedom of speech and
living in a democracy..
We will discuss how the Golden rules
are similar to our British values.
French
Year 3 and 4 will learn a range of
French phrases. This will improve their
fluency in speaking and ability to
understand French phrases when
listening.

This half term the children will
work with Scunthorpe United,
have swimming lessons and
Mrs Atkinson and will focus on:
• Relay races.
• Being able to accurately hit,
catch and throw a ball.
• Effective team work and the
importance of every
member in a team.
This half term we will be continuing to learn about the
Romans. We will be learning about:
• Roman forms of entertainment.
• How to make a Roman chariot.
• To create Roman mosaics.
• The rise and fall of Boudicca.
• The impact of the Romans on our life today.
Numeracy
To be able to:
• Use column subtraction and addition.
• Increase in speed and accuracy with mental
maths.
• Divide numbers using arrays and the bus
stop method.
• Use and apply the four operations (addition,
subtraction, division and multiplication) with
word problems.
• Name 2D and 3D shapes and their
properties
Literacy
This half term Year 3 and 4 will be reading, discussing, analysing, writing and
performing plays, film scripts and persuasive letters.
The children will learn the features of persuasive writing to write a persuasive
letter.
Year 3 and 4 will write play scripts and will perform them to their class, focusing
on how to perform to convey their characters thoughts and feelings.
