IC:
An integrated circuit or monolithic integrated circuit (also referred to
as IC, chip, or microchip) is an electronic circuit manufactured by
lithography, or the patterned diffusion of trace elements into the
surface of a thin substrate of semiconductor material. Additional
materials are deposited and patterned to form interconnections
between semiconductor devices.
DIP
full spelling : Dual In-line Package
Dual In-line Package also known as DIP, is a package for
electroniccomponents with a rectangular housing and two parallel rows
of electrical connecting pins. The DIP is characterized by two rows of
external connecting terminals or pins.
The Dual In-line Package can be installed in sockets or permanently soldered into
holes on the printed circuit board using its pins. There are several DIP variants exist,
mostly distinguished by packaging material such as Ceramic Dual In-line Package
(CERDIP), Plastic Dual In-line Package (PDIP), and Shrink Plastic Dual In-line Package
(SPDIP).
SSI

Small Scale Integration is a term used in electronic chip
manufacturing industry. Small Scale integration is a process of
making IC with fewer than 100 transistors. These are the types of
integrated circuits developed by manufactures in early days containing
only a few transistors.
Compared with SSI there are MSI (medium-scale integration) which
contain hundreds of transistors on each chip, LSI (large-scale
integration) which contain tens of thousands of transistors per chip
and VLSI (very large-scale integration) which contain more than
100,000 electronic components per chip.

Large Scale Integration or LSI is the process of creating integrated
circuits by combining thousands of transistor-based circuits into a
single chip. In LSI, tens of thousands of transistors combine to create
a chip.
The first integrated circuits contained only a few transistors. They
are called "Small Scale Integration"(SSI). In late 1960s, devices which
contained hundreds of transistors on each chip, called "Medium Scale
Integration" (MSI) were introduced. Large Scale Integration (LSI) first
introduced to market in the mid 1970s. Typical examples of LSI
circuits are memory chips and microprocessor.

Medium-Scale Integration is a term used in electronic chip
manufacturing industry. An integrated circuit which contained
hundreds of transistors on each chip, called Medium-Scale Integration
(MSI).
Medium Scale Integration came in to industry in late 1960s. MSI is
the next step in the development of integrated circuits after 'Small
Scale Integration'. Medium-Scale Integration allowed more complex
systems to be produced using smaller circuit boards than in SSI (Small
Scale Integration).
VLSI

Very Large-Scale Integration or VLSI is a term used in electronic
chip manufacturing industry. VLSI is the process of creating integrated
circuits by combining over 100,000 electronic components into a single
chip. VLSI circuits can contain millions of transistors.
Very Large Scale Integration is the next step in the development of
integrated circuits after 'Large Scale Integration' (LSI). As the
technology improved and chips became smaller, faster and cheaper,
engineers learned to pack more and more logic into a single circuit.
This effort became known as very large scale integration (VLSI).
