present continuous: I am having my telephone number changed.
2. Gabrielle broke her leg six weeks ago but she is much better now. In fact the doctor took
off the plaster last week.
past simple: Gabrielle had her plaster cast off last week.
3. Since Roland made a lot of money, he is not content with his little cottage, so an architect
designed him a fine new house.
past simple: Roland had a fine new house designed.
4. This room gets too hot when the sun shines so I'm getting someone to install blinds on the
windows.
present continuous: I am having blinds installed.
5. I heard that Ms. Green didn't trust her husband so a detective followed him!
past simple: Ms. Green had her husband followed.
6. We don't really know what Shakespeare looked like! I wish he had asked someone to paint
his portrait before he died.
past tense: I wish Shakespeare had had his portrait painted.
7. My sister never liked her nose so she decided to go to a clinic for an operation which will
straighten it.
will future: My sister will have her nose straightened.
